Who we are.
Founded in 2009, the Tamworth Erinsville GrassRoots Growers (GRG) are a community gardening organization in the Stone Mills Township area of Eastern Ontario.
Our mission is to encourage interest in local and organic gardening, and support related education initiatives both locally and provincially. In doing so, we strive to improve our practical knowledge of plant life, and love of growing through community events and initiatives.
How we’re growing our community:
We provide free guest seminars, workshops, open table discussions, and film nights - on a range of topics related to vegetable and flower gardening, and the food we eat.
We host seed exchanges.
Throughout the year we maintain community plantings, and take part in local initiatives and special occasions in the area.
Each spring we organize a Plant Sale Fundraiser to support our free community events, educational bursaries and other initiatives.
The GrassRoots Growers are an off-shoot of the Tamworth/Erinsville Community Development Committee (T/ECDC).
